We enjoyed some delicious sundaes today!!





Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather & a story

Language - students read the 3 letter words on their worksheet and then cut and pasted the correct pictures beside them.


Then we played a race to the pond game where we rolled a large die and moved on the circles according to the number rolled. When they landed on one they had to sound out the word in order to move to the next circle. 



Then students enjoyed 20 minutes of reading to their partners.





Math - we talked about how measuring with the same size makes a big difference in the outcome. Students then wrote out their names in each square of a grid and glued them in order from shortest to longest. 




There was no gym or french today as students were at the assembly and then enjoyed their ice cream sundaes afterwards!

UOI - students made a venn diagram comparing a car and a plane



Then they had some fun at centres.

Students enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast!!!





Music - Ms. Hayward




Language - students sounded out then filled in the blanks for the short vowel sound 'i'

Math - students had to draw objects that were shorter/taller than the ones they saw in the picture




Gym - Ms. Yustin

French - Mlle. Jessica

Students enjoyed a fun afternoon at the assembly!

HAPPY PIRATES DAY!!





Language - students reviewed words that had the short vowel sound 'a' and 'e' in them by gluing the words under the correct headings. Then we sounded them out. 



 Then students finished the following sentence in their journals: My friend is........



Math - students had to figure out items in order from lightest to heaviest.



Gym - Ms. Yustin

French - Mlle. Jessica

UOI - students made hot air balloons!

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather & a story

Language - students worked together to finish 10 sentences by filling in 3 letter words. Then we played a game of musical chairs where they had a whiteboard and dry erase marker. When the music stopped they had to find a chair, sit down, and then write the 3 letter word I told them to. When they were finished they held up their boards and I came around to check.




Math - students completed a spring graph



Gym - Ms. Yustin

French - Mlle. Jessica

Then students had some time in the afternoon to do inquiry centres.

Students then headed off to Ms. Smith's grade 1 class to take a look at their cultural dolls and see the different cultures represented.




Language - students would read then record popcorn words!






Math - students coloured in which animal weighed the lightest

Gym - Ms. Yustin

UOI - students cut and pasted which objects were light, and which objects were heavy

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather & a story (we read the story when I grow up) Students talked about what they came to school dressed as and why they chose that job.




Music - Ms. Hayward

Language - students played Beat the Clock again and this time were 2 letters away from beating the minute! We will try again tomorrow and see if they can:) Then students had to figure out which 3 letter word I was calling out from the whiteboard with the short vowel sound 'e' and they had to erase it. Then they completed 2 pages in their Writing With Phonics workbook.

 


Math- students had to figure out which animal was heavier and explain why.

UOI - students watched a short video on Mighty Machines

Then they had time for centres.
